In Cumbernauld, two product-design graduates have worked with local school children to produce a stunning piece of lighting design in an underpass, via inhabitat
Not only is this a great project, it’s also inspiring to see designers going for it on their own and making things happen in their communities.

I know from volunteering with community art groups that there’s a big gap between wanting to do something and getting anything done, and I’m sure it took a lot of work to get the project off the ground, so here’s hoping to a lot more of this sort of arty/urbandesigny/community/educationy thing in the future.
