Ceramics and Architecture

by jupiter

My mum visited during the festival, and we visited Jupiter Artland on a lovely sunny afternoon. Last time I was there the Amethyst Room THE LIGHT POURS OUT OF ME by Anya Gallaccio was still being installed, so I was glad to get the chance to see it in the sun.

It is absolutely stunning, a sunken chamber accessed via a smooth walled black staircase with a bed of lava. Surrounding the work is a barbed wire fence which has been gilded, and a substantial gate to keep you out. Unfortunately the sun was shining straight into the chamber, making it irresistible.
